Praesidus was founded in 2019 with a clear mission : to create rugged, reliable watches worthy of honoring the veterans and military personnel who courageously serve and protect us. In fact, our first watch was a near-exact replica of a World War II era A-11 that veteran Tom Rice lost in the ocean when he deployed in Normandy on D-Day. Honoring our World War II veterans, their heroism and the sacrifices so many of them made for our freedom is the very core of our ethos.

Even our name, rooted in the Latin word for protector, is a homage to those who stand watch, guard and defend us.

As such, we vowed to revive legendary military timepieces of the 1940’s to preserve the stories of the past for today and the future. It is the courage and resilience of those brave soldiers, as well as the on-going courage and resilience of all service members today, that inspires us daily.

Our pledge was and always will be to create American-built timepieces that are trustworthy under the toughest of conditions: engineered for accuracy, tested for endurance and ready for any challenge. Our commitment to precision, durability, and resilience is the backbone of everything we do. That’s why, over the years, Praesidus has grown beyond its military roots.

Today we serve a wider audience: outdoor explorers, everyday adventurers and enthusiasts with their own ethos of readiness and strength, and who need a watch they can rely on when it matters most.
